Description
BASF F200 3/16 inch Activated Alumina Desiccant is a high-quality and dust-free desiccant and is currently the only activated alumina manufactured in the USA.
BASF (formerly Alcoa) F-200 3/16" Activated Alumina desiccant is a ceramic compound that is highly porous. It can absorb both gases and liquids without changing form or disintegrating. Activated Alumina can have a surface area greater than 300 m/2 and can achieve dew points of -40°F to -100°F depending on the operating conditions of the dryer. The BASF F200 3/16" Activated Alumina desiccant is recommended for use in liquid dehydration and other mass transfer limited adsorption applications such as compressed air and gas. BASF Activated Alumina is not suitable for drinking water.
Activated Alumina desiccant can be regenerated to its original adsorption efficiency by heating to a temperature between 350 - 600°F. Regeneration of the Activated Alumina is commonly done with the use of a heated regenerative air dryer.
