Description
BASF F200 3/16 inch Activated Alumina Desiccant is a high-quality and dust-free desiccant. Formerly offered by Alcoa, F-200 desiccant is now manufactured by BASF and is one of the only activated alumina desiccants manufactured in the USA.
F-200 Activated Alumina desiccant is a ceramic compound that is highly porous. It can absorb both gases and liquids without changing form or disintegrating. Activated Alumina can have a surface area greater than 300 m²/g and can achieve dew points of -40°F to -100°F, depending on the dryer's operating conditions. The BASF F200 3/16" Activated Alumina desiccant is recommended for use in liquid dehydration and other mass transfer-limited adsorption applications such as compressed air and gas. BASF Activated Alumina is not suitable for drinking water.
Activated Alumina desiccant can be regenerated to its original adsorption efficiency by heating to a temperature between 350°F and 600°F. Regeneration of the Activated Alumina is commonly performed using a heated regenerative air dryer.
