The Midwest Control MD Series Motorized Ball Valve Drain is designed to automatically remove condensate from compressed air systems without relying on a small solenoid orifice that can plug up at the worst possible time.
Condensate drains are not usually the most exciting part of a compressed air system, but they are one of those components you definitely notice when they stop working. Water left sitting in receivers, filters, separators, and piping can create corrosion, pressure drop, air quality problems, and a mess on the floor.
The MD Series uses a motorized ball valve design for dependable automatic discharge. Instead of depending on a tiny passage to move condensate, the ball valve opens to help clear water, oil, scale, rust, and other debris that can cause standard drains to clog.

Choosing the Right Size

For smaller receiver and filter drain points, 1/2" is often enough. Larger receiver drains, separator drains, or higher-flow discharge points may justify stepping up to 3/4" or 1".
